Hi, I’m Debs. I’m the owner and maker behind Studio D a jewellery brand based in Larne, N.Ireland. My love for creating jewellery began many years ago, when I just couldn't find nice fashionable jewellery that didn't cause a skin reaction. Having metal allergies made finding jewellery that was suitable a tough job. So I thought I would try to make my own, and I realised that I could combine my love of painting and colour to create jewellery for everyone, even those with sensitive skin.
I take so much comfort from knowing that my jewellery is loved and appreciated by women and girls who have the same issues as me and turning paint into beautiful jewellery that can be worn and cherished every day. Each piece takes approx 2 weeks to create from start to finish, so there is nothing mass produced here. As well as making my jewellery, I also take part in craft fairs and artisan markets all over Northern Ireland and meeting customers face to face, catch ups with my crafty besties, making new contacts and showcasing my new designs is something that I absolutely love. I run my business by myself, and doing this while battling disabilities is very challenging at times, but I love it and it is so rewarding. I work very hard at my business, whilst also working part time and running my home, and I wouldn't change it for the world. The joy and satisfaction I feel when I look at my jewellery and know that I created it with love and care fills my heart with joy and pride.
